House Extensions in Cirencester & the Cotswolds

More space, better laid out, built into your home as though it was always there. House extensions planned and built by John Goddard across Cirencester and the Cotswolds.

Space That Works For You – Serving Cheltenham, Gloucester & Stroud

A house extension is one of the biggest investments you can make in your home. Done properly it adds space, improves the way a house flows day to day, and adds real value. Done badly it shows up in cold spots, damp coming in through poor detailing, or a room that never quite feels part of the house.

John Goddard has spent many years building extensions across Cirencester and the wider South Cotswolds, single-storey rear extensions, side returns, and two-storey builds. Every project starts with a proper look at the property, not an estimate fired off without visiting.

Matching existing brickwork, stonework and render is treated seriously so the extension sits well with the rest of the property. John is on site personally throughout, covered by public liability insurance up to £1,000,000.

Get in Touch
Do I need planning permission for a house extension in Gloucestershire?
Many single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development and do not need a full planning application, depending on size and height. Two-storey extensions, side extensions, and work on listed buildings usually need consent. We will advise based on your specific property.
How long does a house extension take to build?
A single-storey extension typically runs eight to sixteen weeks depending on size and specification. Two-storey builds take longer. A clear timescale is agreed before work starts.
Can the extension be matched to my existing property?
Yes. Matching existing brickwork, stonework, render and roof materials is taken seriously, so the extension sits well with the rest of the property rather than looking bolted on.
Will I need to move out during the build?
Usually not. Extensions are typically built off the back or side of the property, and the connection through to the house is made once it is safe and weathertight.
Do you handle all the trades, or do I need to source my own?
The full project is managed, groundworks, brickwork, carpentry, plastering and first fix. You have a single point of contact throughout.
Are you insured?
Yes, public liability insurance up to £1,000,000.
